Hi Marvin,

Appreciated your thoughtful comments, as always, and appreciate your Free Spirit blog, where you write something interesting and thought provoking each and every day - not an easy task. I applaud you!

I think I'll do a little something on women "Rethinking" what's important to them and society, that wasn't covered in the Popcorn report per se.

The societal pendulum swings. Back in the "pre-feminist movement" 50's, women stayed at home because they had no choice. Women's and men's rights were out of balance. It is human nature to want what you cannot have - the "forbidden fruit" syndrome, so the turbulent 60's and 70's saw the women's liberation movement explode. Women left the homes and went forth into the workplaces, the government, the militia, the clergy, you name it.

And the strength of the family, the bond of good nurturing in a healthy home suffered. Then as a society we were out of balance the other way. Women doing anything they wanted to prove their worth as equals as men, but not deriving the joy and satisfaction a woman gets from fulfilling the role of the nurturing mother and loving wife.

So it is good to see women reclaiming that very important side of their nature and birthright. Now that women DO have choices and not so much to prove anymore, perhaps we will see a generation of women who choose to stay at home and be the Mom and wife, not because they have to, but because of the immense satisfaction of it. And of course with the internet and home based business opportunities, there is no reason why an intelligent goal-oriented woman can't satisfy an entrepreneurial and/or career desire and still be able to do it from within the structure of a strong family that she holds together with her strength, natural nurturing abilities and love.
